Light Bag Quest

Anybody ever try to remove straps from a bag and 'install' another strap? Any suggestions for a bag that holds up pretty well but doesn't weight 10 pounds?

I don't know the statis weight of it, but the backpack straps were pretty handy and didn't pose any problem for me last year. I can snap some pictures if you like. You'd come in under budget :)

The straps are kinda annoying but they are VERY comfortable when you get them positioned correctly. I prefer them to the majority of straps out there (when I can get them lined up on my shoulders correctly).

*ugster said: The Mizuno bag I got last year, their lightest, is only 2.5 lbs. I got it new for $80 from Golfsmith. It really is a great bag. The OGIO Vaporlites are nice in the ultralight category. I may have gotten one of those last year except they cost a LOT more than the Mizuno.

Very very light in weight, traditional shoulder strap, durable, easy to carry. No stand to break, just set it on the ground or against a bench, just like golfers did with their bags for the last 100 years before stand bags arrived on the scene. You can get one on EBAY FOR < $50.
