905S?

l*afer4life said: I went to Dick's today to try out some drivers and they had a Titleist 905S with a Graffaloy Blue/stiff for sale for $150. I decided to take a couple swings just to see how it felt. The launch monitor was broken so I couldn't get any numbers but I felt like I was absolutely killing it. When I looked at the face I was hitting everything dead center. I won't have the money to get it until Friday but I had them set it aside for me. Does anyone think I should jump on this? Has anyone hit this? I was thinking of getting fit for a new D2 this spring which I may still do but I'm really tempted to pick this up. Anyone have any thoughts?

I checked Global Golf and they don't seem to have any as yet, otherwise that would be my first stop. By friday they might have some in stock. 8.5 DEGREE TITLEIST 905 S - eBay (item 200205266804 end time Mar-11-08 21:29:45 PDT)

I checked GG as soon as I got home and I couldn't find anything either. Quote: Originally Posted by MIKE1218 The 905S always felt dead to me compared to a 905R which is a very good driver. I like the smaller head of the 905S though. I'm not too worried about my distance, I'm plenty long enough on my home course. I'm just looking for something I can be consistent with at this point. I'm thinking of stockpiling drivers like several of the members here (I won't mention any names... :D) so I can switch things up if I feel the need. I think this forum is rubbing off on me. :thumbs up:

RJT*e said: I have the 905S, however, only had it for a short while. The center of gravity on the 905S is supposed to be higher on the club head which, if I am not mistaken will allow more workability and a lower ball flight. Mine is a 10.5* head with a V2 regular shaft; definately easy to work, ball flight is similar or lower to 9.5* drivers I have, with the V2 shaft it seems to be long (still winter here). On the other hand, it accentuates a bad swing (hooks and slices), and is less forgiving on offcenter strikes, and not a good clubhead for somebody who needs help to get height on there shots (I hit the ball high so it works for me). Have not hit the D2 or D1 so I can't compare them with the 905S.
