Best bargain ball?
d*kejh12 said: What are your guys favorite bargain balls? By this I mean under 20 bucks for a dozen. Mine would have to be the Nike super soft.

Since you have a Dick's try to find last years Callway Warbirds, they were going for something like $12 a dozen a month ago when I picked up a box. Heck, the new ones might be under $20? I don't really try different balls, figure at my skill level it probably won't matter too much so I try for quality cheapies. So take the above with a grain of salt :)

From the limited experience I have with the D2 outside in the wind, I find them very similar to my Stratas. Not as much ballooning as the spin rate is down a hair from a 3 piece and easy enough to keep on a boring trajectory if you can do that with other balls.

They aren't soft by any stretch but it's been really windy here recently & the greens are wet so Pro V's have just been spining too much. I shot 38 on the back 9 with 1 the day I got them. May have to give that Topflite a go soon though.
*zra76 said: I like the Noodle long and soft for a cheap ball. Also the Maxfli Redmax has been on closeout at several places for like $12. Eventually I may try the D2's but I have a decent supply of used NXT's, NXT tours and Prov1's to go through first.

It's always freakin' windy here (just ask gunning4u :D) and they have played great for me. Long off the tee, no ballooning, nice feel on the irons and off the putter face. Ive been able to work them with the irons pretty well too. Decent spin off the wedges but obviously not as much as a thin urethane cover ball (Pro V1, etc.) I played Nike Power Soft balls up until this year but I like the D2 Feels better. Unless something changes, I'll probably keep playing them.
