So, i just bought a redboard. What do i do with it?
Cr*ssfire said: Just pulled the trigger on a 83s redboard on ebay. 41.75" tipped 1". What do i do with it? What would be the playing length? I either want to reshaft my 906F, get a new FW head, or see if its remotely long enough to play in a driver. Any opinoins?
Lyl*G said: Be good in a 5 wood or a 42.5ish inch 3 wood depending on the bottom bore to ground measurement.
Cr*ssfire said: Since i don't carry a 5 wood, I wonder what would it play to in a 906F? Or should i chalk it up as a loss already and sell it?
Lyl*G said: It would plat between 42 and 43 in a 3 wood. My 3 wood is 42.5 so I can see why this wouldnt work.
*dam Pettman said: Take the WBL approach, buy a club to put the shaft in.
Cr*ssfire said: Thanks lyle, I only play a 44" driver so 42.5 in a 3 wood might do the trick. However, I may want to keep my 906F intact, whats the best component FW you can recommend? I want something square and neutral. Low spin, yadayada, small(er) profile?
Lyl*G said: Maltby KE4 from golfworks.
Cr*ssfire said: heh, my creative juices are flowing. What are your thoughts on shaft extensions? Like the kind from golfworks. It says i can extend up to 2" putting me well into the length i need. Thinking about putting this badboy into a ct250. While were on that subject lyle, whats the real differences between a ti crown and a composite crown?
Lyl*G said: An extension will be fine, I wouldnt gove over 1.5 inches though just to be safe. The comp crown is lighter allowing more weight to be positioned in other places to help with launch angles and such. The ti-crown original non movable weight CT 250 is the best one of them.
