Adams or Nickent?
p*ulgrot said: Looking at getting a new Driver and Fairway wood; I am after peoples thoughts/opinions on the Adams RPM fairway woods vs the Nickent 3DX Utility woods (both 15 deg) and the Nickent 3DX Square vs the Adams Insight BUL drivers. Currently i am using a Dunlop Loco Pro 9 degree and are still searching for the fairway wood that fits nicely between my driver and 18 degree hybrid. The closed face of the Nickent Driver is appealing as it is similar to the Loco and I like the nice draw that it gives me, however, I am open to any alternatives. Thanks Paul

j*josasser said: You can get the Nickent square driver with a V2 shaft for $99. I haven't hit one but it should be a decent club for the money. As far as FW's go, I have an Adams RPM LP 3W and like it. It's easy to get in the air, even on tight lies, but there are longer 3W's out there.

F*zzifus said: I have a Nickent 3DX Ironwood in 17° (2i) and it is quite frankly the best hybrid club I have hit. I really do love the club......if you can get your hands on any of their line, give them a swing, you should be pleasantly surprised.......
R*s Ipsa said: For Drivers: I have a Adams BUL. Just got it a couple weeks ago and only tried it 2 times on the range. The stock shaft is 45.5" which is way too long for me. I am going to cut it down to 43.5 and try it again, but ultimately I will put in a proforce v2 into it. The head does seem to be pretty good but that shaft was so out of my comfort zone I was spraying it all over the place.
p*ulgrot said: At this stage I am leaning towards the Nickent Driver mainly due to the V2 shaft as standard. With the fairway woods the Nickent has an Aldila NV75 shaft where as the Adams has options of the Aldila NV75 or a Prolaunch. Is there much difference or benefit of one shaft over the other?
MCD*vis said: If you play R flex, I've got an Adams Redline RPM 460D 10.5 and a pair of Adams RPM LP fairways (3 & 5), all with ProLaunch Blue R shafts in great shape I'd sell. They're at the beach, but will be home this weekend after 1 more round. And if not, you'll probably see them in the classifieds next week. :D

I've been buying/building/demoing drivers trying to beat it (because forums like this make you think you need new clubs for some reason, even if you're hitting yours well) and nothing can touch it. Now that they can be found for $100 if you look around enough, that thing is a no-brainer. I guess if you're the kind of player that can work the ball this way or that or can choose the trajectory of your shots it might suck - but if you're a hack who wants a driver that only knows how to go straight, there it is. It sounds rediculous at impact, but as soon as you see how straight it goes you'll be proud enough of your shots that you don't mind people looking over to see what the hell just happened. The 3DXDC UT clubs are awesome also, but I don't have any basis for comparison on those to say if they're better or worse than others. It'll have a shorter shaft than a standard 3W though - they're kind of a halfway between traditional FW and a hybrid. Super easy to hit, though.

w*rbirdlover said: Good deal but it's got a V2 shaft. Wished they had some other choices. :) And WG, you could probably unload it on me at the ST outing!! :)

I wish they had a 12° in regular flex, I'd pick one up just to see if I got more distance than my 10.5° does. At that price it almost seems like a shame not to get one just for the hell of it.

It will eventually come back but then maybe the iron game will suck? I figured throwing some competition at the FT-3 might force her to shape up & fly right or she's gone.
