So whats the consensus on the fti?

*quipmentjunkie said: From people who have hit it on the course or who own one. Does it sacrifice distance from the ft5? Ant real difference in accuracy? I hit one on the sim a while back but I don't trust those things.

M*nchesterGolfer said: I had one for 6 weeks or so. (8.5 degree draw bias tour model) The distance was as good as the FT3 maybe longer because you felt really confident over the ball and it encouraged you to rip it. I didn't really see any major improvement in forgivness I could still draw, fade, slice or hook the ball with it. (sh*t swings still went awol) However, I did hit more fairways with it just because it was so easy to 'square' up at your target & stand square to the ball. I sold it before they were released over here so I wouldn't loose out big time on it. (paid over the odds for it to get it imported). I will get another when the price drops below £200. My FT5 Tour will hopefully turn up this week so I'll let you know how the distance of that thing compares.

D*nnykos said: well - the todays golfer driver test indicates that there's about a 4 yard difference IIRC

R*ckford35 said: I really liked the one I hit. Sounded nice, sets up nice behind the ball, delivers a sharp strike and is predictable off the face. And, it's straight, which is probably more important than anything. That being said, I found it a tad closed, shorter than most drivers and expensive relative to other viable options (Ft-5, HiBore XL, ect.). I'd play one if it was given to me, or I could ho one for cheap without you guys finding out. :D R35

*quipmentjunkie said: thanks guys, I'm waiting on the prices to drop after the summer and then I might pick one up. I noticed Hank Keuhne was using one the other day.

F*urputt said: I've been playing the FTi for a month now, and you will only take it away from me when you rip it from my dying hands. Today I hit 10 of 14 fairways (unheard of for me), and the 4 misses were minimal. I also shot my best round of the year so far. I have no idea how it compares in length to the FT5, as I have never hit that one, but I can't imagine that the difference would be significant. I hit it as far as any driver I"ve ever owned, and that's good enough for me. On the most significant hole, a long, 551 yard par 5, I hit it 270 yards uphill into a breeze. My ball was a good 30 yards past where any of the 4 guys playing in front of me played their 2nd shots. And on a couple of other holes where I could see the tee shots, I was as long as or longer than the guys who were following me. It's not a great comparison, as I don't know what kind of players they all were, but it's good enough for me. And anyone who is going to quibble over 4 yards (and I don't really see it) has other issues far more pressing than driver length.
