S*an said: A ways back I asked for suggestions on 'newb' wedges and a few guys said to get some Tom Watsons, in the 3-pack. They were going for $79. I kept putting off buying wedges because I wanted to try some other stuff out but finally decided to get the Watsons. I picked up the 07 models for $99, eschewing the older set. No real reason I just decided for $20 I'd get the newer ones. They seem to be very nice, even got one to spin back to the pin today with the gap wedge, something I've never done before (more luck than anything to be honest) Even used the Lob Wedge a couple times from the fringe on the far side of a green. Good spin, feel good. I guess that's about all I can ask. I swear they helped dramatically over just using a PW and SW for the chipping. I was able to get good pop and roll and I was hitting dead in line with the flags. The one thing I don't like is the grips, just feel bad on the hands. May have to try my first re-grip in the coming weeks. Just wanted to thank you guys for the suggestion, they are working nicely so far! I'd recommend them to newer golfers or guys on a budget like myself! Thanks again.

I went with an Adams sand wedge with a little more cavity back to get a little more forgiveness. You are right about Adams grips. I have never felt one I like. Thank goodness that nice grips are cheap.

Y*ungun5 said: hard to go wrong with them....i'm due for a new set of them....grooves are gone on mine. regripping those are a must...slap something you like on there and play them until they can't be played any longer.
